Paired with Bolognese- High acid, Medium - tannins, medium intensity. Blackberry, Sour cherry, Black and red Current, Sweet earth, Slate, medium body, perceived sweet fruit (juicy) but no residual sugar or sweetness
14.9% abv. Dark crimson color. Glass coating glycerin. Fragrant nose of dark cherries, blackberry jam, woodsy, rose garden. Deeply extracted, full, fairly grippy in mouth, shows high toned structure, acid and freshness. Predominantly red fruit, dark chocolate truffle, spice cake, peppery. Great California Grenache; more northern Rhône styled. El Diablo indeed.

This is the third bottle - I've tried one each year after receiving them. This crimson beauty is is still wonderfully full flavored, bold with a nice long finish.

I'm a sucker for N. CA Grenaches, so it is no wonder that I really enjoyed this! That said, this isn't a wine for deep introspection -- it shouts (but doesn't scream) it's support of hedonistic pursuits and a sense of carpe diem.
Blue and red fruits (more weighted towards blue) with a lovely perfume nose with a hint of smokiness I found enticing. Thoroughly enjoyable, and probably better to enjoy sooner than later as long as it is given a little air...

Wine is on point right now after 1HR decant. Dark garnet, starts meaty and funky then switches to sweet, juicy and long. At or near peak, enjoy….
