Very tight & austere despite a (short) decant. This may need several more years to open up (or a long decant - see Day 2 note below). Notes of oak, dark fruit on nose. More oak, blackberry, leather, and lots of tannins on palate. A rather sharp, angular mouthfeel on the palate. I'm guessing a drinking window that starts around 2024...
We had this with tri-tip roast, but that didn't seem to help showcase it much.
Opened up quite a bit more on Day 2, with more fruit and a rounder palate. Cinnamon, clove plum on nose, baking spices and blackberry on palate with softer tannins. Spicy leather/oak finish.
IF YOU DRINK THIS SOON, GIVE IT _AT LEAST_ 2-4 HOURS TO DECANT.

Ruby in color. Coffee, blackberry, black cherry on the nose with some depth. Medium acid, medium plus tannin, medium body, medium plus finish of cedar and black fruit. A quality wine perhaps slightly overpriced and may have a couple of years ahead.
