  • Deep straw to pale lemon in the glass. A fairly typical example upon opening of what you you’d expect to find in a young Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru. It’s all citrus zest, white flowers, and rocks. Bizarrely and frustratingly when the wine was finally drank some six hours later the nose had become very reductive. This blew off to some extent and we were greeted with the addition of some waxy citrus peel yet the wine was still largely inexpressive. The palate is slightly riper than the nose with a touch of lemon curd - a trait I love in white Burgundy - and the texture of cold butter. Despite some fleeting glimpses the wine really struggled to show its true colours and fell well short of what you’d expect at this level. Based on this showing it would be unfair to rate the wine.

  • Highly reductive one the first glass that took until the final sip to blow off. It also had unintegrated buttery oak on the palette. When it did, a very waxy citrus fruit profile presented. Juicy also on the palette with integrated oak. It closed down a bit on the second glass on the nose. A bit more open on the third. I find it impossible to score. I’d recommend a hefty decant at this stage.

  • Light to medium hay color. Nice balance of citrus (lime and lemon), almonds and a steely note. Nice mouthfeel. Dry style. Little pricey.

  • Distinctly Old World in character, this medium golden Chardonnay is effusive of honeysuckle, jasmine, pit fruits, citrus and wet stones. Freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (13%), softly oaked and with good presence on the mid-palate, it concludes long and crisp. This is structured to ensure enjoyment over the next several years. Drink now-2027.

  • Agree with Philippe_C. White orchard fruit and white flowers on the nose, some citrus. Fans out nicely on the palate. Reminded my wife of Meursault. Long finish. Double decanted about an hour prior to our meal which was perfect as the wine developed during the meal. Better at the 50-55° temperature mark.
