This is quite a nice wine. Definitely in a new world style, ruby colour. Chalky tannins and very strong boysenberry notes on the palate. High acidity and a dryness that doesn’t tend to develop, even with airing. Quick legs. The Grenache has a very pleasant undertone. I would keep this one for a couple of more years, hopefully this’ll soften - would definitely take it up a notch. As is, enjoy the full bodied fruit, but don’t expect the most complex Languedoc.

From old vines grown in clay and limestone soils the 2016 Paul Mac Clos de Mûres is a substantive blend of 83% Syrah, 12% Grenache, and 5% Mourvedre. Deep ruby; Med+ aromas intensity of boysenberry, wild blueberry, and plum followed by a top note of cocoa powder and black licorice. Developing; Dry, high acidity, med+ chalky tannins, high abv (14.5%), Med+ body, Med+ flavors intensity consistent with the aromas, long finish with quarry dust and and cedar round out the finish. Excellent! very good VFM. Can drink now - suitable for further aging.

From old vines grown in clay and limestone soils the 2016 Paul Mac Clos de Mûres is a substantive blend of 83% Syrah, 12% Grenache, and 5% Mourvedre. The rim is vibrant blue-violet, with fresh, penetrating aromas of boysenberry, wild blueberry, and plum followed by a top note of cocoa powder and black licorice. Chalky tannins on the palate give way to a firm acid spine. Syrah lends richness and body, but it’s bright enough to want food—quarry dust and cedar round out the finish. 14.5% ABV | Sample

Dark red/purple, fine nose of sweet ripe black fruits with full bodied mouth feel that's well balanced, would get better with age I believe
