  • 2016 Josmeyer Gewurztraminer Les Folastries

A delightful, complex nose on this one: Lychee, white flowers, pomelo, ginger, flat Sprite, cumin & cinnamon, and chalk minerality similar to Josmeyer's Riesling reviewed earlier this year. Off-dry, low acid, medium-bodied, still richly floral (rosewater?), ripe peaches, and citrus pith/rind and a medium-length finish. Shame we didn't pair this with Indian/Moroccan. Loved this, even if we prefer high acid whites!

  • 2018 Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc

Clear pale lemon - this was pretty intense with a nose of tropical fruits, canned peaches, and apricots. More refreshing tropical fruits when you sip, but grapefruits, almonds, and the trademark "green" note when you gulp, leading to a pretty long finish. Refreshing, great value white! Great NZ SB without the usual pungency.

  • 2016 Josmeyer Riesling Le Kottabe

We had our favorite tacos for Sunday lunch and just had to open a zingy unoaked white (always a perfect pairing). First Alsace Riesling in a while - this was pale gold in the glass with light, delicate (yet creamy!) notes of honey, grapefruit, ripe green apples, pineapple and chalk. Medium-bodied, not bone-dry, and very acidic! Mostly blood orange, lime, and minerals in the mouth with a stony, saline finish. Balanced, elegant, complex nose and mineral palate - great with food!
