  • First day showing still very much on the fruit, black berries with some tangy tannins. Second day much rounder. Can still wait for a couple of years. No rush

  • Tried initially without decant. But it really needs it. With time and temperature the nose becomes lovely with Cherries and a bit of Strawberries. In the mouth it adds spices and rose. Good acidity but without being overwhelming and underlying tannins. It needs further cellaring to reach maturity but can easily be enjoyed now.

  • Short decant. Lovely and charming fruit driven pinot. Cherries and Black-currant dominate with a soft tannic structure behind. Quite promising when fully mature.

  • Second bottle from a three pack. Similar notes to last December. This is a really powerful style, belying the five years of bottle age. Bright red color. Deep nose of red and dark fruit. Quite primary. Open for a couple of days it starts to unveil more nuanced notes of cherry and spice, while the palate remains firm with lively acidity and quite firm tannins. I need to try and leave the third bottle for at least a couple of years if I can, I think the best of this is awhile off yet.

  • Mid red. Powerful nose of bright cherry, with a touch of spice and floral notes as well. Quite full bodied on the palate (at least in the context of the style), with good acidity and pretty decent length. Should improve with a few years longer aging I reckon.
