  • Nice aroma of strawberries and cherries; a hint of earthiness and aromatic herbs. On that palate, more of the same. Tannins are fairly integrated, and the acidity is present but not overpowering.

The second day, the herbal aromas have morphed into black licorice aromas. I don't have much experience with Burgundy, but I enjoyed this bottle immensely. It paired really nicely with venison and mushroom stew.

  • Dark garnet in color, this wine reveals muted aromas of black tea, tobacco, rhubarb and Asian spices on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied with approachable tannins that highlight the black tea elements. The finish brought lower than expected levels of acidity. 13% abv.

Brought by my boss to a local BYOB, this was a decent but not complex opening wine shared with family and co-workers.

Imported by Vine Street Imports, Mt. Laurel, NJ.
