15% alcohol. G 75%, S 25%. Long cork of pretty good quality. Deep colour with no thinning at the rim. Good dark fruited nose, mostly fresh but with a note of prune, adding complexity to the mix; certainly not overbearing. The dominant feel in the mouth is one of juiciness, with fresh fruit and excellent acidity; the alcohol protrudes a bit too much at times, but not to the extent of what the label threatens. A pretty successful bottle from this rather large producer. Good value too. Maybe not as distinctive as Montirius, but very creditable nevertheless.

This was the penultimate vintage I bought - this wine was and is an excellent QPR where I live, and has great consistency. I have found they last longer than expected. This bottle was in great shape, and yes, perhaps a little modern as some previous notes have suggested, but there is also great typicity and a well balanced offering in this vintage, with mainly red fruits, nice acid and tannins to give it a lift. A solid Vacqueyras ready now or in several years (B+/A-).

Nez : fruits rouges confits, épices, sucre d'orge. Souple et fruité...ample et mi-corsé. Un vin mûr avec une finale moyenne. Peu complexe mais beau. Prêt à boire. 89+

Rich, dense in a quite powerful Sothern style with plenty of rich Grenache-fruit, loads of garrigue. Very local and just a wee bit polished as so often with the modern Perrin-wines. #Ruths
