Drinking beautifully right now with still time at this level. It needs some air to really get going, but once it does it has a light petrol Riesling character with green apple, stone and orange blossom. Very fresh, round and steely at the same time. For those who are not familiar, this is a white field blend with Riesling predominant and I am. It sure they know what else. They did a DNA test some years back and found that the Riesling was a much larger percentage than originally suspected but there are other old California Germanic whites in here too. This wine always ages well and in 2016 it has well balanced ripeness and acid so it likely has time.

Opened and poured. The wax cap was a pain to chisel away. Cork a little flimsy and loose. Poured chilled. Notes of semillion and reisling. Quince, lemon chiffon, tart apple notes. Nice acidity. Opened with a little more sweetness and fruit....reisling predominant. Steely. Good.
Some citrus, lemon, stone fruit, and herbal notes on the nose. Nice acidity with lemon and tart peach flavors, along with good minerality on the palate. Nice finish. I preferred the palate to the nose, which was a bit muted. Overall, a very nice CA white that could use a bit of time in the cellar. 92+
