Drank this in a taste off against a 2016 Aperture Del Rio. Both wines were very fruit forward. This was a dark purple in color and had corresponding rich fruit of raspberry jam, black cherry, plum, and licorice and a touch of spice. This was an opulent, hedonistic bottle for sure. It had great fruit but was lacking tannins to form any structure. Drank this as a PNP at a wine bar and no decant was necessary. This was an easy drinking, fun wine, but was definitely a fruit bomb. This was not syrupy in A Caymus type of way, just out of balance. For me the Aperture was much better.
