  • Efren saved this one for us at the Summer Palace on Cayamo. 6yr old white, last bottle, in the cruise ship cellar. I really liked it though I could tell it was starting to fall apart. Rich and acidic. A little too acidic for M.

  • I tasted this wine alongside several other wonderful Italian wines tonight. This was 2nd to Fiano do Avellino. Quite a surprised wine with the acidic experience dominating any fruit. The fruit that is there is lemon driven, mineral supported with limestone in its mid palette and then quite delicate as it finishes with green apple, citrus and rock.

  • 100% Greco di Tufo. Clear, bright lemon yellow with a golden hue, medium (+) intensity. The nose is clean, medium (+) intensity, with aromas of white flowers, ripe lemon, white peach, pear and wet stone. The nose is still youthful. This wine sees no oak. The palate is dry, but with plenty of sweet fruit at first, followed by lemon/lime flavors. Medium alcohol (13%), medium (+) to high acidity and medium (+) minerality. It is medium (+) bodied, with medium (+) flavor intensity, and a medium (+) to long, drying finish with a touch of phenolic bitterness. It is drinking well now, but has the potential for gaining additional complexity with a little more aging since it definitely has enough structure and fruit. A great value a $19.00.

  • Pure joy this time, went lovely with different antipasti. Airy, flowery, mineral way better with food than on its own.

  • Retail $30. 100% Greco di Tufo. Golden in the glass which is a bit surprising given its relative youth, but expected regarding the variety. Melon and honeysuckle on the nose and fruity initially on the palate, followed by a flintiness and eventually tartness. I used to bear a mighty grudge against Italian whites. Wines like this make me re-evaluate. thedrunkencyclist.com
