  • 750ml; PnP; Brought to dinner by a friend. Popped open with a fantastic nose of cherry red fruits, earth, and leather. For a 1997, this wine was in a great spot, tasting tons of fruit for the offering - cherries, leather, some floral stuffing. Never had this before but would like to again. Probably at peak and should hold for at least a few more yrs I would think. Thanks, WS.

  • From magnum, deep dark garnet. Lovely nose that took several hours to fully develop with vanilla, black plum and leather. Very nice mouth feel, rich and voluptuous but not overdone. Very well balanced with medium long aftertaste. Flavor profile reflects the nose with the dark fruit in the mid palate and the leather in the finish. Good with BBQ ribs and chicken but would probably be better with a grilled Florentine steak!

  • wonderful aged Brunello. Still a hint of fruit. Tannins fully mature and a good dusty leather taste. Smooth drinking. Drink it now

  • I have opened my last bottle of this wine and it has a gorgeous palate of dark, dusty cherries, saddle leather, and crushed violets. The finish is long with a rush of luscious fruit. Considering the wine is 17 years old, it has rewarded me with it's long term cellaring. Just a delicious Brunello, and too bad I don't have any more bottles.

  • This Brunello continues to drink well. It has am Amber color at the rim and the bouquet is typical Sangiovese. On the palate there is sour cherry, some dusty cherries, worn saddle leather and good acidity. It has a nice long finish too. The wine may still live on for a while, but I am not sure how many more years before it drops its fruit.
