I typically love wines from Ehlers but this wine was way to tight for me at this time. I suspect a few more years will soften the tannins and open this gem for future drinking. The drinking window on this wine, in my opinion, is way off the mark. This wine will improve over the next several years and, for now, requires significant breathing time to really enjoy.

I agree with many others on this wine. Starts as a Napa fruit bomb. After 3 hours the tannins were still pretty harsh. I love Ehlers wines and trust that this wine will improve with further cellaring. The drinking window is thru 2024-be patient as this wine will improve beyond that date.

This started out as a fruit bomb the first evening, but after a night under vacuum seal it blossomed into something altogether more appealing, with significantly more depth and nuance. Perfumed black and blue fruit and fresh cut flowers on the nose. If you have these, give them a good amount of air, or hold for several more years.

Popped and poured. Initially a bit oak forward on the nose but after about 30 mins of air, dark black and red berry fruits mixed in with a little bit of dark cocoa powder. Black cherry, cassis, toasted oak and cocoa on the palate. Medium acid and tannin. Smooth mouthfeel. Definitely shows the merlot in the blend even though it is cab dominant. Very nice wine but just ok from a QPR perspective.

Beautiful deep garnet color with lots of dark fruit on the nose. Full of fruit on the palate. Very well balanced with a velvety texture and long finish. Delicious with filet. Must be near it’s peak. Looking forward to my remaining 2 bottles.
