Medium-dark rosewood color. Intense aroma of black licorice and the sweet smell of ripe blueberries. Similar licorice notes on the palate with a hint of orange zest, and some musty sous bois flavors. Amply tannic finish. This has plenty of tertiary nuance already, but more maturation might be warranted to the the structural elements smooth out.

This wine was a lot of fun over two days. A touch of VA for the 1st couple of hours but integrated. Huge nose of worcestshire/balsamic, rose and thorns, cherries, fresh tomatoes, dust and leather. The palate on day one was a wall of tannins. But day two brought out more fennel, earth, cherries and balance. Was screaming for a caprese salad.

Surprisingly still good fruit and structure. A very good bargain.

Still has nice freshness and a slight tannic grip. Decant for a couple of hours then enjoy.
