  • Prior bottle was one year ago and this wine continues to drink very well. Red berry, red cherry and mineral/earth notes on the nose. Medium bodied with red cherry and red berries upfront, continuing to show beautiful clarity of fruit. Black cherry and blackberry through the middle (no raspberry notes) and in a very rounded and open fashion, such that the wine feels silky and balanced throughout. Lightly tart red cherry on the back along with minerals, earth and integrated tannins. Still showing the fruit through the middle so well and with very good overall balance. Glad my last bottle could go out on such a high note.

  • Prior bottle was 5 months ago and my overall impressions were consistent. Red cherry, minerals and earth notes on the nose. Medium bodied and virtually all redfruit this time around which I ascribe to serving temperature (warmer) and time open ahead of time (longer). Red cherry upfront with a mix of brighter, lighter, more mineral accented notes and rounder more expressive notes. Mid-body was beautiful; silky and elegant with an undercurrent of darker red cherry and red raspberry to accompany the red cherry. Backside continues to show tart red cherry, minerals and earth. There's a clarity and definition of fruit through the mid-body that works extremely harmoniously with the structural elements. This wine doesn't quite have the depth or complexity that my first few bottles in 2021 and before showed, but it's only a small step down and how the wine is drinking today is very enjoyable. I will try and save my last bottle for June/July 2023.

  • Prior bottle was almost 7 months ago and while this wine continues to show impressively, this bottle was a small step down from my prior ones. Both black and red cherry along with mineral notes on the nose. Medium bodied with rounded black cherry and brighter red cherry upfront. Mid-body has good depth, but not quite as much as previously. Darker black cherry shows up here along with some red raspberry hints and some plum notes towards the back. Not quite as silky and elegant as prior bottles were; it's lost a touch of its youthful opulence. Tart red cherry, earth, minerals and balanced tannins on the backside. Overall, the wine continues to show quite well with excellent fruit and balance. The fact that this was served from cellar temperature (55F) probably contributed to this slightly lesser showing. I'll plan to open my next bottle in June/July 2022 and reassess.
