  • Rich nose of ripe blackberries, blackcurrants and old leather.
The tertiary notes really stand out on the palate, however, which leads me to believe that this vintage would be best consumed sooner rather than later.
As a side note, I must confess that I prefer the 2009 vintage to this one; it has aged better and will likely cellar at least as long as the 2011.

  • Unusually beautiful saturated black/dark garnet color. Nice black currant nose. Medium+ body, and plenty of rich red fruit. But there's a little too much acidity and green tannin at present. Slightly astringent, even bitter finish. Consistent notes over two days. May smooth out with time and deliver more pleasure - this wine should be better than it is. But a mild disappointment now.
