What structure for a base CC! But of course, we are talking about 16. Here I found flavors of dark cherry, lingonberry jam, and underbrush, married with firm tannins that turned wonderfully pliant on day 2. Darker and deeper than the relatively light weight and higher toned 2018 of this bottling (which is very good in its own right). This is only at the very beginning of its drinking window.

Tastes like Chianti: bright cherry fruit with some vegetal and leather flavors. I like it, though the Scopetone Rosso di Montalcino went better with food. Not super interesting, but good value here.

Good; some may say it's "a safe bet", "reliable". About 350K bottles produced, with the wine beginning at a controlled temp in stainless steel before being moved to Slavonian casks; 90% Sangiovese, with Canaiolo and Colorino. The maceration is ~ 12 days, and the resultant wine is totally open on PnP with decent structure, and length. From several plots in Various plots in Loc. Castagnoli, in the Gaiole district. A consistently good value, and to that end, it's recommended

I agree with all of the praise for this wine. The 2015 and 2016 Chianti classicos resets the standard for QPR and wine value.
