Darker tan golden as one would expect of a Chenin Blanc of this age. The most unusual thing about this wine is the disconnect between the nose and the palate. On the nose, butterscotch, caramel, and rich ripe apricots more in line with a desert wine. In the mouth, tight firm acidity eliminates any chance of mistaking this for dessert and brings with it more lemon citrus while the butterscotch largely is nonexistant. Highly interesting, probably just not exactly to my taste, and not something with which I have much experience.
