Primary fruit is disappearing. Surprising acidity. Not a lot of pleasure compared to earlier experiences with this wine. No apparent development of complexity. Hope that's wrong but I'm inclined to suggest immediate consumption.

Revisiting Washington (Woodinville): Fresh and slightly herbal in style. There's a hint of more heat here which surprised me but just really shows up on the finish. Detracts a touch from the wine, but wonder if I'd given it some time it would do better.

My wife and I tasted this at the Woodinville tasting room on 3/17/19. It had a rich, ripe nose of smoked meat, blackberry, plum, burnt toast, char, black olive, licorice, herb and spice aromas. The palate was rich and dense with flavors of burnt toast, blackberry, plum, licorice, herb and spice.

One-hour decant. Beautiful magenta color. Full-bodied richness. Excellent red fruit. Drink or hold.
