Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Colour: dark cherry to plum
Nose: sour cherry, plum, strawberry stewed in balsamic. Black cherry. There’s a meaty, earthy character in the background too, perhaps truffle, perhaps forest floor, perhaps charcuterie, perhaps coffee. Some French oak. Sweet spice. Fresh & young.
Palate: sour cherry, black cherry, plum, strawberry stewed in balsamic, perhaps stewed rhubarb. The dark earthiness of the nose isn’t as obvious on the palate, which is lithe and fresh, but seems to be lurking in there somewhere; it comes out with air providing truffle, forest floor, and coffee beans. Really elegant. Lovely, linear berry-like acidity, really smooth but structural tannins. Medium bodied, 13% alc. I like.
Notes from half bottle, at Restaurant So, Dijon.
