  • ROYALTYCOINS note is on point, nothing much to add, fine as a 'sauce' for a basic meal or charcuterie, but not memorable.

  • Notes of red fruits and vanilla. Low tannins medium acidity. Enjoyable

  • By the glass. Too easy for my taste but I think I understand its qualities among the general public: here there is sweet black fruit in jam, mainly prunes, some exotic fruit and notes of flowers. All very direct and linear, without great surprises. In the mouth, structure is heavy, acidity is low and tannic load is exaggerated. This is what I call imbalance. Sorry.

  • Brilliant purple color. Fruit forward style - a bowl of red berries with some leather and spice. A bit of creme brulee - like aromatics with a silky smooth mouthfeel. Not much in the way of tannic structure. This is a young drinker. Good.

  • Medium ruby.

Nose: Bright strawberry, dried underbrush, leather, chalk. Fragrant and well projected.

Mouth: Smooth bing cherry, strawberry, with a hint of vanilla and spice. Light in the mouthfeel but still nicely structured. Very light tannins are astringent, never grippy.

Overall: Bright, ripe summer fruit is the star of the show here. Good showing of its component flavors and high quality for a young example of the varietal. Note this is little brother to the Molino Leradici: this not nearly as layered or knit together but more energetic and food friendly. A bit of age might benefit it, but the youth is something to preserve here, and there's not quite enough structure for extended cellaring. 100% Barbera.

    87.
