{screwcap, 13.5%, A$21} Chocolatey sort of wine, with roses, liquorice, blackberry, not much oak, low/medium dusty tannin. Medium weight; the nose seems to promise more heft and depth than the palate manages. Even mouthfeel, short/medium length finish, dry and quite savoury. Great value compared to the usual confected offerings at this price. May even reward 3-5 years in a cellar, no more.

P&p. Aromatic black cherry with a potpourri-like mix of dried flowers, herbs and spices. Some oak signature, but within reasonable limits. Similar flavors, with the fruit front and center but not alone. Good acidity. Some smooth tannic grip. Fairly sleek and modern in style, but with a bit of traditional sensibility and typicity in there as well, and comes across as well made. Not exactly interesting, but for the modest price paid (24 NZD) an enjoyable wine.

Flavours of black fruit, hay, rusty nails, and liquorice. Palate is medium-bodied, with little tannin and good acidity (strong and persistent, but not sharp).
