An enjoyable Pinot Noir from Holocene, but I wasn't as impressed with this bottle as I have been with other Holocene vintages. Plenty of raspberry and ripe cherry fruit, densely packed with spices and violets, with hint of pepper. A strong streak of minerality ran through the middle and long into the finish. It opened up more with a one hour decant. The tannins were still quite firm but softening. Tasty, but I was hoping for more. When compared to the 2015 Apocrypha, for instance, this wine didn't seem quite as pliant or as rich. It may just be in a "dumb" phase of maturation.

Really nice right now, although the tannin have resolved almost completely so I’d drink up as this doesn’t seem to have the structure for a long term age.

This is crowd pleaser pinot - very rich and extracted, but the tannins are smooth. Vibrant red fruit, flowers, some minerals and a touch of classic OR pinot earth. This wine will probably continue to improve for a few more years, but I think it’s built for near-term enjoyment vs. long-term cellaring. I wish it was a bit cheaper.

Had with ceviche and it was perfect. A mild pinot that was full of character. Served pnp, but settled down after it warmed up in the glass. Great qpr and with food.
