Somewhat muted nose of ripe peach. On the palate there is a great balance of fruit and minerality, with a presence of wet chalk underlying evolving notes of tart green apple, lemon curd, and peach. The chalkiness continues to linger on the finish. On day 2 the wine is slightly more expressive in its fruit notes but still that chalky minerality is what drives this wine. Will plan to keep my other bottle in the cellar for another 5-10 years before opening.

Masterclass Kühling-Gillot / Battenfeld-Spanier (Restaurant De Scheepskameel, Amsterdam, NL): Deeper and darker expression of minerality than the Frauenberg, expresses the ripeness of the vintage, but with a lovely thread of acditiy and apple skin bitters running through it.
