Definitely needed time to decant. Initially it was a very fruity nose but the taste was not there. After a couple hours it started to balance out. Very tannic even after the decant, but a very tasty wine.

Decanted 2 hours before taking a sip and this was big, dark and tannic. Not a simple Napa Valley bottling. Even after 5 hours it remained a big with with fairly aggressive tannins. Black currant, blackberry, earth. Very nice wine now, but could benefit from more cellar time. David Grega said this vintage has a good deal of the blend from Hossfeld Vineyard on the way up to Atlas Peak. That Vineyard burned in 2017 fires and so ended up going into this rather than as a Vineyard designate.

Age and decanting really helping this wine. Still super young.Decant 1.5 hours.
Black fruit, herbal notes, hints of chocolate, plum, spice finishes with some tannins. Wine is complex.. mid palate just starting to develop. Mouth holds the finish. A

Decanted for 30 minutes and enjoyed over two hours. Very young and a lot of oak and a touch of cedar on the nose which blew off in about 40 minutes but still very much present throughout. Also aromas of graphite and earth and black fruits. A beautifully made wine, but way too young to drink right now. Glad to try this and see how it’s developing, but will try again in another two or three years.
