Ap: Clear dark purple red Ar: beautiful sweet fruits and nicely integrated oak...for a time Medium bodied, lean, but rather harsh palate that leads me to think the wine has past it's prime. Medium length

Tried this wine back in 2007 and loved it. Unfortunately I forgot about my remaining bottle, and now it's seems the time has past too quickly.

I think I opened this one at the right time. The nose on this wine offers dark berries, chocolate, plums, and above all else, MEAT! The flavors of the wine have the same trajectory as the nose: A blast of berries, chocolate, and plums giving way to a slab of meat and other savory components. The finish is of significant length and the tannins are not shy. I think that there are plenty of years left on this one. If you love primal, gamy wines like Bandol and Hermitage, you would certainly love this Sagrantino di Montefalco.

Quite delicious, spicy, dusty, dried fruits. A bit darker character, maturing well but with some coarseness to the backed tannin.

Nice sagrantino, young at 10 years old, with that dark sagrantino funk, roasted meat and a hint of wild herbs.

Hard to describe: Wet leaves, dark plums and cherries. More plums and leather fight with a smack of tannic notes dominating the finish.
