Elegance. On the nose, forest floor, pine, dark red fruit, peppercorn. The palette is fresh, lively, with a zippy acid finish. This vineyard sits high up in Mendocino, among pine trees, and I taste the pine distinctly on the finish. A lovely long and concentrated finish.

Awesome stuff. It has some tough syrah competition around the $50 mark, but still solid QPR- deep and beautiful example that dips its toes into both a rich, ripe style and a savory, lighter one. Didn't take super detailed notes as it was enjoyed with a large group.
Nose of deep blueberry liqueur, accents of black licorice and new leather, plus tiny little nuances of something approaching olive brine and cracked pepper, maybe even a bit of earthy pine- in the end, mostly about the plump, beautiful fruit. Powerful acidity, a brighter palate than the nose suggests- some rich blue/black fruit liqueur, but also a high dose of salinity and cured meaty tones. Closer to a bigger style, but still quite fresh and complex, not to mention highly expressive.
Although this doesn't need aging, I really think it'll evolve beautifully, easily reaching 94-95 after another 5 years. Would love to see how the fruit and earth coalesce into something even more intriguing. I have a feeling I slightly underrated this and that a more mindful drinking experience would make it even better.
dark colored with purple rim, pleasant aroma of fresh dark berries and peppercorn, balanced and elegant, fresh acidity runs through deep flavors of plum skin, juicy blackberry, raspberry and black pepper, drinks well now and the fresh acid should keep it drinking well all the way into the next decade

20 months after the prior, our last: dark, integrated, beautifully savory. Hints of white ground pepper. Very enjoyable over three nights.

10+ months after the prior: similar, while showing more savoriness and less fruit. Integrating well. Very enjoyable over three nights.
