This wine leads with youthful but classic Sangiovese nose of dusty red cherries, floral tones, touch of minerals and rose petals. Body is quite tight but well constructed with firm tannins and strong acidity with a lengthy finish. Blind I would’ve thought 2010 or 2013 Brunello reserve with a little less structure on the back of the palate. Really a nice wine but needs some time to relax from here. Not sure about QPR though.

Duplessis at Table, Donkey and Stick (Chicago, IL): There's an intense dusty thing on the nose here that reminds me a little of the 2006 Cerbaiona that I had yesterday. This doesn't have the funky note that the 2015 San Lorenzo had either -- it's a very intense and clean wine, with lots of fruit both on the red and black side of the spectrum. The palate is fairly elegant, but the trouble is that this is just too young. I think letting this see some time to integrate the fruit, acid, and tannin, will yield some really good results.
