Good, maybe needs more time to be a good QPR. Fairly thick, classic CdP flavors, but all fairly primary. Needed a few minutes for some harsh funk to blow off, then settled down.
Upon opening the wine was so promising with an intense nose and palate of complex notes. However, to my great astonishment, the decline came soon. Within 15 minutes the wine in the glass turned into something harsh and bitter. So, we finished the remainder of the bottle as quickly as possible. Never met such fragility in any Châteauneuf-du-Pape before.

Received partial bottle from my oenophile neighbor 14.5% abv 59% Grenache, 32% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, 3% Counoise and 1% Vaccarèse.
2016 is the first bottling of de Nalys under the Guigal Label. Dark red on the pour; semi opaque in the glass. Fragrant nose of Dark Red fruit, Cherries and Raspberries. Medium-bodied, but full-flavored with ripe Blackberry, Plum and Cassis with hints of Chocolate and pepper spice. Nice smooth, round feel in the mouth, with supple tannins, leaving a slight fuzzy feel to the tooth. Ample, but not overpowering acidity. Pleasantly tart, lingering minerally finish . An elegant wine.
