Can’t believe the 2015s almost have 8yrs on them! The 2013 I had in 2021 (with 8yrs) showed a more dense, dark and powerful profile compared to this, but both were incredibly enjoyable. Removed the cork and then consumed from bottle an hour later.
The profile here showed a touch more red fruit than than the 2013. Deep red, small tinge of purple in the glass. Not sure if some Merlot made its presence known here, but there was an elegant vibe. Pretty aromatics of mixed berries, potpurri, espresso. Definitely a savory/mineral streak (graphite) showing up on the palate. Lush and balanced and in no way flabby or overly tannic. More dark fruit (cassis, roasted blackberries) appeared toward the finish. Fantastic Sonoma Cabernet.

Some cola notes on the nose but this is an expressive albeit big wine that showed great on pnp. Very well balanced even with the higher alcohol. Really enjoyed and for the $95 I paid on release I’m pretty darn happy with this wine. Wifey loved it

Remarkably I still have two of these sitting in the inventory. Well, now I guess only one.... My willpower to abstain from these and let them age has actually been a lot greater than I thought it would be. But, this was the wine brought to the dinner party, and I needed a red that would complement an Aubert Chardonnay so this one had big shoes to fill. And fill them it did! These are always such big wines, with very bright character! The cork was popped to a dark black stain. Look like the end of the cork was a vacuum! Poured an inky violet into the glass. The nose is blueberry and blackberry perfume. Vanilla, blueberry. Entry is dark, thick, youthful, graphite to the middle and toasted oak tannin on the finish. This really took just about zero time to express itself. If it had lasted an hour, it probably would have developed quite nicely. It was pretty much consumed, dare I say inhaled. Probably lasted all of 20 minutes. This wine is ridiculous. For the price, it does very well and will compete with wine that is three times its price point. There is absolutely no rush to consume these bottles. The structure here is quite amazing. But I do expect these to continue to age well and develop nicely over the next decade.

Dark red with currants and dark berries. Smooth finish with silky mouth feel. Paired well with short ribs.
