Francois Chidaine is a Chenin wizard. Even when showing Chenin from it’s rich and generous side, it is always with a becoming restraint and elegance. Les Choisilles 2017 has rich yellow stone fruits and apples, ripe citrus, lanolin, acacia honey, wax and chalk on the nose. Rich yellow juiciness and a medium to full body is elegantly tamed by fresh acidity, chalky minerality and some dry phenolic notes. Beautiful balance. The intriguing chenin paradox par excellence in one bottle.

Had this over about a week from Coravin and it was excellent, including the final glass+ that got some air the final night. Other recent TNs tell it well, so I'll punt to those. (But... beautiful amber color, complex honey-d nose, a textural grip and a long-ish pleasing finish. Great on its own or with food.)
12.5% abv - note that this is firmly within the Sec classification within Chidaine's range. Of the five Sec bottlings, this one is in the middle of the pack on the sweetness scale. So quite dry among the full lineup.

Gang of 5 in Covid19 times; Loire (@ RW): The bouquet needs some air and then it shows apricots, peach and melon. On the palate impressions of honey, ripe fruits, some minerals, beautiful wine with good acidity. Round and friendly.

Rich yellow color. Aromas of nougat, marmalade, candle wax, with pears and sea salt. Loving the mineral, chalky, limestone feel to this wine, and the brisk acidity. Plush fruit (apricot, white peach) accented by mineral dust, honey, meringue. Delicious young but I'd be curious to try this in a few years.

Very enjoyable. Dry with a hint of apple and honeysuckle. Give it 30 minutes or so to let the flavors open up.
