medium intensity gold color. nose leans to chablis with a funky mineral note that reminds me of low tide. medium bodied with some bite. preserved lemon flavor with a bit of oak like spice. medium length finish.

Aligoté at Table, Donkey and Stick (Chicago, IL): Definitely reflective of the northern roots, this nonetheless has a really nice weight to it, but counterbalanced with some bright citrus flavours. Not too waxy, nor reductive, but with good minerality and overall a very clean disposition.

Highly acidic, somewhat thin in body with lemony zip and just a hint of lactic richness. A good but fairly typical aligote that could sub for a quality muscadet...I might keep the remaining bottle for a few years to see if it becomes more interesting.

Attractive aromas of stone, vanilla (not overdone), orange/lemon, and some cool tropical fruit along the lines of guava. Similar flavors, with good tart acidity and stony and saline minerality. Delicious fruit, like a blend of guava and tangerine. Some richness to the texture, but lifted by the acidity. Nice juxtaposition and balance of elements. Quite enjoyable with or without food, and a good value.

The bottle has developed nicely. Love the honeydew notes along with the weight gain. Definitely looking forward to my next.
