  • Appearance: deep purple with ruby rim.
Nose: medium plus intensity; aromas of fresh blueberry, vanilla, sweet spices, dark cherry, red cherry, subtle smoke and leafiness. It's developing.
Palate: dry, medium plus acidity, medium plus tannins (ultra fine and silky), high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity, dark cherry and plum notes come through. The finish is medium plus but persistent and close to long finish.
Overall, it's a very good wine. Can drink now, has potential for further ageing.
This wine is very pretty both on the nose and palate. Intense fruit yet doesn't feel the weight on the palate, thanks to the acidity and well integrated oak. Prominent fresh blueberry reminds me of Cyril Henschke, but obviously less expensive. The tannins are silky but still mouth coating to offer the structure. A beauty to drink now and has the flavoring intensity to benefit from further cellaring. Pretty good value as a flagship wine, a resurrection of its glorious history.
