Wonderful champagne. This was complex and satisfying with a long finish. I hope I have another bottle of this since popping the cork at 1:00AM didn’t give it the attention it deserved.

Leapyear tasting (Red Dot Winebar Kristiansand): Citrus, yellow apples, crushed almonds, bread dough, with air becoming more briochy. Elegant creamy mousse, med body, med alc & acid levels, doesnt deliver the same fruit intensity and complexion on the palate as it did on the nose, but some interesting savouriness midpalate going into a long well-balanced finsh. A very well made wine.

I probably wouldn't have opened this again so soon had there not been a Champagne emergency (oops!). Pretty consistent with my previous note - feels closer to a Blanc de Blancs style wise. Still very youthful and nervy.

A bit tight, there was citrus zest and pain d'epice a plenty (particularly in the empty glass), with mineral and sweet almond notes. It's perhaps a tad linear at the moment, but there is real complex potential in the mid-palate. Mousse is divine and the finish certainly lingers. I suspect these haven't fully come together and that a long life ahead awaits.

Pale golden, still vibrant with lively pearlage. Savory and rich on the nose, bright on the palate, belying its age.
