Powerful, big nose with rich stone fruit, oak, apple, vanilla. Something mineral to the smell (slate stone dust?). Palate matches with intensity and size and has ample acidity to balance it's size.
Keep as long as you like, but I like the balance of freshness and large winemaking flavour (read: smart oak use).

My first Aligoté, triggered to try after drinking Comte Armands Burgundy blanc, which was the best Burgundy blanc I ever tasted: clean and dry, green apple, soft toast, apricot, citrus fruit, peach, minerals note, great finish.

One of my favorite Aligote producers. I think this is in a very good drinking spot right now as far as deriving any pleasure of the fresh fruit variety. My hunch is that holding it any longer will yield a different experience rooted in the realm of the tertiary type. Stone fruits, some citrus and a medium weight mouthfeel. Nicely balanced. I have one more bottle and can't wait to see what this is like with a few more years of cellar time. It'll be interesting.

Light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of yellow pear, honeydew, melon and a hint of cinnamon. Flavors of lemon rind, quince, apricot and minerals. Bright acidity, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.

Nose little citrus. Fresh, correct, high acidity. OK, but simple.
