  • Pleasantly surprised. Did not like the first one of these we had (drank it some 10 years ago), so thought I'd hold on to it to see if it would get any better...boy did it! Nice leather nose. Heavy bodied. A dark brick-red maroon color...still plenty of acidity and some tannins. On the palate is tart cherry, meat juice, rose petals, smoke, and some oak. Yum! Went well with pasta and salad. Plenty of life left. Wish I had more.

  • A bit light upfront witha degree of acidity that was perhaps out of balance with the fruit...A nicer pizza wine as it went well with our viscous red sauced italian fare

  • Deep violet color, still nearly opaque. Ripe black fruit, graphite and some anise on the nose. This is supposedly a blend of Barbera, Nebbiolo and Cab. If so, the flavor profile tends to be dominated by the Barbera, with lots of juicy black fruit, some soil and a bit of oak. Plenty of structure, but I don't see a lot of complexity developing here.
