This is a bit of an oak monster. If that is your thing, you’ll love it. If not, I’d probably avoid. But overall, a good wine and well made, but for the same price there are better wines out there, in my opinion.

Four hour decant. Deep dark ruby magenta color. Blackberry, black cherry, black currant, granite, rose petals, dark chocolate and subtle kettle corn on the sultry, brooding nose. Velvety, tongue drying palate, that included some red apple notes. Voluptuous tannins on the pretty long finish.
Could have easily handled an 8-12 hour decant. This is certainly what you’d call a masculine wine, but not in a toxic masculinity sort of way. ;)

No score, but this was drinking very well last night. No change in score since my last 93 back in February.

Deep concentrated ruby color. Perfectly clear. 5
Nose is pure Napa on day 2. Blackberries, cassis, anise, tobacco leaf, damp granite. NICE! Reasonably concentrated and open. 13
Clean and sound. Palate confirming nose. Bone dry with mouth coating tannins even on day 2. 17
Finish is long and delicious. Very satisfying. 8

No extensive notes. Not monolithic but certainly big. 1-2 hour decant if drinking today.
