Good CC, but only average CCR. I like the pure, strong straigthforward nose. The palate is balanced, fruity and with tannis that should give the wine good life for some years. But it's missing the Riserva nuances and layers, and that's the reason for the headline. Tart fruit focused good Chianti without the usual Riserva elements. It's well-made and good food-friendly wine anyway.

After I had an amazing 2013 I was a bit disappointed in the 2 bottles of 2015 I had, while the first was hiding all the way this one was nice but paired with annata of Fontodi, Val delle Corti and San Giusto was definitely a level below. It has a nice bouquest of red frutis and flowers, more smooth in the mouth, missing a bit the character of a Riserva wine.A medium finish bring it at a close without sparkle but still not below 89 pt.

Med ruby with garnet hues. Pronounced. A touch of dark cherries in the background and very spicy profile. Liquorice, cinammon, cloves, leather, dried fruit, hints of coffee and dark chocolate finale. Full bodied, with smooth chalky tannins. Agile and never tiring, simple in a good way. Long finish.
Castellina in Chianti. Organic.
Fermentation and maceration on the skins for 24 days at 25°C. Malolactic fermentation in steel.e Aging in Slavonian 20 hl oak barrels for 15 months and in glass-lined cement tanks for 9 months, then at least 6 months in bottle.

Perfect maturity. Silky tannins, well integrated wood, spicy but still fruity… Yummi
