My second single varietal from Kershaw, both were good, but I prefer this PN over Syrah. Aged in FR oak for 11 months, where only 12% was new barriques. Pale and bright ruby red glittering colour. Medium intensity smoky aroma of cherries, flint, strawberries, tar, rose petals. Medium light body, feels fresh but not tangy, rather soft and elegant with medium density and well integrated acidity. Extra fine mild tannic structure makes it even more approachable and enjoyable.

Cherries, raw tuna, strawberry, mud and white pepper. Almost overwhelming day one but day two a much more harmonic wine. Will prolly benefit from 1-3 years cellaring.

This was really good. Transparent light red with a warm glow to it. Having tried the 2017 chardonnay and Syrah which both were quite stern, I had expected this to be borderline undrinkable due to closed up and tight in style. On the contrary, this was brimful of sweet strawberries and lovely oak in the background, sure enough the acidity was very good and the finish long and elegant, especially after som air and a couple of degrees below room temperature. Excellent PN.

Tweet up for Elgin Wines: SBlanc, SBS, Chardonnay & Pinot Noir (Elgin, South Africa): (Tasted Blind): A light crimson colour, youthful. An intense, lifted bouquet with cherry and some light reduction that blew off. Real depth of fruit, complemented by light, gentle tannins and fresh acidity. Well structured, and there is a particular grip to it that I enjoyed. No score as vested interest
