April 30 ‘22 - i agree with all the flavor patterns of “cave” but perhaps the additional year has mellowed this fab Zin a bit. hence my higher rating Served with grilled pork tenderloin, yukon gold, broccoli and corn on the cob. Simply an excellent expression of a fruitful yet not cloying Zin. Jeff Gaffner is magic

Blended from multiple Sonoma Valley vineyards, Saxon Brown's 2015 Fighting Brothers Zinfandel is a deep ruby, ripe wine that is flush with blackberry, Luxardo cherry, fig, anise, cinnamon and black pepper aromas. Full-bodied, fresh and with a healthy dollop of spicy oak, it delivers flavors mirroring the nose and stays solid on the mid-palate. Despite being listed as a reasonable 14.7%, this wine's alcohol throws some heat (even when served at 60-65°F) on the medium-length finish. Those who prefer a ripe style will enjoy this Zin, especially if it is given some air. This particular bottle was Vinturi-decanted and achieved its best an hour thereafter. Drink now-2024.
