Christmas in July (Ben and Estella's place, Parramatta): Aromas of leather, earth, slight farmyard, soy, umami, wet blackberry tends to bramble, cedar, toast, slight coffee. Juicy, the tertiary notes are equally to the fore, the fruit very much playing second fiddle and there is plenty of texture to the mid palate helping this play with the protein.

Burgundy "Masterclass" - Day 2 (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia): [From Coravin] The appearance is clear and pale tawny in colour. On the nose there are notes of mineral (saline) and bottle age (wet soil, black truffle, subtle leather). On the palate, the wine has a distinct line of stem/whole-bunch character (ash, dried leaves) with some muted fruit development (subtle dried blackberry, subtle dried black cherry). The flavours have a good concentration [medium(+) intensity], keeping the alcohol in check, and the finish has a medium(+) length.

From Coravin. Leather, black fruits, sweet spices, earth, slight blood, mushroom tending to truffle, a slightly lifted cranberry lozenge quality. On the palate the acid is a little sharp, the tannins quite leather and tight. What fruit that is left is very cranberry and it finishes with black tea. Hmm

Coravin fun - new arrivals: From Coravin. Initially some alcohol heat which blows off to reveal polished aged red cherry and biscuit backed by sweet spice and slight animal and farmyard notes. Slightly sour on the palate, the fruit is muted and there is still some tannic burr on the gums and tongue. Hmm. A little flat for me.
