Toro Pago La Jara vertical tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of vanilla milk oak, licorice, red plums, earthen dust background. Developing. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), soft high tannins, full body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet vanilla oak, red plum, sweet dark red cherries, licorice, sweet spices. Forgettable medium finish. Oksy quality. Substance kinda dilute, probably that's why the oak seems more obvious. Some under-ripeness felt. For a wet vintage year, the 2011 is better I feel. A few more years for the oak to integrate, but probably not going to improve by much.
