Enjoyable Chard (thanks to good acidity), but slightly out of whack for me (culprit is, I think, the full Malolactic fermentation this wine went through, which in this case comes across as a tad obtrusive… this is the lactic quality noted by others). Otherwise an enjoyable mix of apple, pear, and citrus on both nose and palate.
PS: Improved with around 60mins of air.

1/6. Medium golden color. Aromas of barrel, butterscotch, saline, pear, bit of floral, and waxy yellow fruit. Medium (+) body, acid, and finish, and straddles rich and bright, but certainly more to the rich side, and with flavors of pear, yellow apple, pineapple, basil, and lingering minerals. Certainly on the modern side, but not obnoxiously so IMO, and I'm not getting any weird lactic qualities mentioned previously. Generally works for me, thankfully, since I've got 5 more.

It took a few years of bottle age, but it came around. much more well rounded now, although that sharp acidity still lingers in the background…

Better than previous bottle. The lactic notes were not present this time.

A very nice chardonnay, acidic, not buttery, notes of lemon, lemon zest, just a hint of what seems like brown sugar.
