  • Wonderful wine from one of Willamette Valley's newest AVAs tucked in the northwest corner: Tualatin Hills. Popped and poured and consumed over many hours. The wine stabilized quickly and is at its best within the first 40 minutes; I wish the initial complexity would persist. Dark cherries primarily on the nose heavily supported by scents of leather and a hint of baking spices. On the palate, the fruit is cheerful and bright, presenting fresh cherries with almost an overbearing amount of boldness and oakiness which counter balances. Big finish, but short-lived as it tapers quickly.

  • Flowers, sweet strawberry, and red cherry lead. Holds great tension on the palate with a suave entrance and both cloud-like density and vibrant energy. 2016 is shaping up beautifully for many Willamette producers, and this is great evidence at an oh-so-fair tarrif. Drink now or hold through 2025.
