Lost its fruit, but very strong still. Better with food, red meat or duck. Has a somewhat bitter after taste, that disappears in combination. Stands up against cheeses as well. Left it open for one night; the next day the wine was much more approacheable, softer and more balanced. Can be drunk over the next 4-6 years I guess.

This was still a little tight after 5 hours of air. I think the structure is here to go another 10 years. The fruit and oak lent itself well to red meat.
Decent bottle.

Dark garnet with purple hues and heavy in the glass. Nose of cedar, plum, blueberry, dark chocolate, char, leather, singed tobacco, dried fig and camphor. Full body, textured and exotic with big, stewed black fruit, bitter chocolate, tobacco, fig and sweet BBQ on the palate. Chewy with just enough structure to hold its weight. Med-long finish. I really wanted to love this wine, but it was on the simple side. Time may grant it more complexity.
