  • The producer claims no vintage, but the bank label says "Lot 2015" so I take that to be at least the base year. Unusually the seal is a cork stopper with a single metal clip over it - something I have only seen elsewhere on Lambrusco, but this is a completely still wine.

Initially this was very disappointing - a little vegetal, thin, strong tannins. I put the bottle aside for 90 minutes or so and it improved significantly.

Now the nose is dark red fruit, some quite sweet notes. The palate is quite light, some acidity and tannins developing more as time goes on. The fruit though is very restrained. It's hard to tease out any character to this wine.

Maybe I'm drinking this way too late. But this certainly isn't a repeat buy for me at ~US$45.
