Unlike its sibling, which we enjoyed after aeration a few months ago, this bottle was a complete failure. The carbonation never subsided, and the acidity was off the charts. A sink pour, unfortunately. Our last bottle, fortunately. Pass.

Dark reddish-purple in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & blueberries with overtones of spices & pepper & earthy/dusty notes, minerals, herbs, cocoa & a hint of smoky notes. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums, herbs, spices, minerals & a hint of mocha. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well with decanting & extended airing at present but has the potential to develop further with additional aging. A blend of 44% Grenache, 37% Syrah, 11% Mourvèdre, 4% Counoise & 4% Cinsault.

Good fresh red & dark berry fruit with some spice. A hedonist's delight. A good food wine.
Perhaps a bit young?

Needs air to blow off some spritz and bloom a bit, but very pleasurable after that. Quite a nose! Berries, tar, toasty oak.
