  • From magnum, lovely, weedy, cabernet franc nose, more of the same on the palate, lovely. rich, concentrated, touch simple taste, medium/long finish.

  • Although I like aged Loire Cab Franc, this was just too pungent, lean, and green for me. In fact, to continue rhyming, tending toward mean. Someone in our group took a sniff and said "spinach", and not in a compimentary way. Nice stony underpinning, but ultimately too underripe and thin to enjoy or recommend. Not close in quality to an '88 version of this wine which we very much enjoyed about a year ago. Both were tasted out of magnums recently released from the domaine, but much of tonight's magnum went undrunk. While the same could be said for all wine growing regions, when Loire red grapes don't ripen, the results can be particularly unpleasant.
