Bumping up a point. A fantastic bottle at a fantastic value. Consumed over two days, I kept asking myself if I would call Oregon or Burgundy were I blinded. Probably burgundy for the acidity, spice and sous bois, but this has a nicely polished texture and sunny red to black fruits. I’d be curious to the whole cluster exposure herein, but it’s a beautiful pinot, very quintessential and a strong buy
For what it is, this wine is really fantastic. Tons of pinot character, restrained oak tones, aromatically open with fine details. I think the Envoyer write up was true to form. It’s a nice all around wine, good with food or on its own and will hold for many years if desired

Paired with grilled chicken. Let air for 45-min prior to dinner. Cloudy, purple-crimson color. Good depth and concentration, but still settling out on the palate. Deep blackberry, rhubarb, and spices. Drink 2023-2028. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 91.

Fantastic and robust nose. Super clear. Bright cherry, cinnamon , spices and fragrance. However A bit subdued on the palate early on. Will see how this evolves. 13% alcohol , really have enjoyed the McKinlay offerings.
