Inky foreboding magenta. Dark berry, cinnamon, clove and cedar nose. Medium to full bodied, crushed blueberries, blackberries, copious woody tannins, smoke, dark chocolate, and a dry medium length finish. This is the biggest Carignane I've ever had.

Only 15 minutes of breathing--probably benefit from much more.
Extremely dark garnet and nearly opaque. Very good bouquet--blackberry. Med+ Body. Just right for me. Not heavy, overly rich or overextracted. Nice palate - attack of big blackberries then some blueberries and red fruit- and nice complexity. Alcohol is evident - at 15.5%. The wine is a good wine--and very "interesting." Perhaps a bit harsh (probably more from the alcohol than the tannins), but not particularly objectionable - it just seems to add to the "interesting." I bought four from WTSO and will open over time--should age well--it has plenty of fruit. and should mellow nicely. I read Jancis Robinson comments about the grape--certainly not a noted noble grape, but in this wine, good and interesting.
